About Us
Mental health is foundational to everything that matters: our relationships, professional and academic goals, and overall quality of life. It deserves the same priority we give physical health, and far more access than most people actually receive.
Balance Behavioral Health was built in response to what we kept seeing: care that felt transactional rather than relational, systems that prioritized volume over depth, and patients who had to overcome real stigma simply to ask for help. We believe the relationship between patient and provider is the most underutilized resource in psychiatric care. This practice was built to change that.
Alex Peterson, MSN, PMHNP
Alex Peterson, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Balance Behavioral Health in Roswell, Georgia. A graduate of Georgia State University, Alex has been in clinical practice since 2018 guided by one core belief: that real healing begins with being genuinely known.
He works with adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and the complex presentations that emerge when these conditions intersect. His approach integrates medication management with relational psychodynamic and object-relations oriented therapy, treating not just symptoms but the patterns and histories that sustain them.
Balance Behavioral Health exists because mental health care should feel personal. Here, it does.
